Nice to “meet” you!
My name is Nao.
(Yes, like “right now”. No, my sister’s name is not “later”.)
Nao with her HappyDoll “Sunny” and “Potato Girl”
Since our launch of HappyDoll in January, we have received many words of encouragement and support from our friends. THANK YOU so much!
As the PR person of HappyDoll, I hope this blog helps you to learn about HappyDoll and inspires you to become a part of it. If you have any interesting ideas or suggestions on how to help HappyDoll grow, please get in touch with me
Well, here’s a little bit about myself so we can be better acquainted:
As a native Japanese who grew up in Tokyo, Hanoi, and Washington D.C., I thought New York would be just another city in my life. I was dead wrong. It only took me a month to realize that this place is a small “globe” in itself, a melting pot of cultures, race, religion, and philosophy of life. It was exactly what I was searching for all my life. After graduating from Smith College in Massachusetts, I was determined to work in New York. With the help of my friends and “family”, I am now on my way to successfully becoming what I like to call a TOKYORKER.
One of my earliest memories is on a plane; my forehead pressed against the plane window, I watched my country getting smaller and smaller as it disappeared behind the clouds. For a child, it was never easy moving from one country to another. However, I know that I would never trade a single moment of my life. Traveling made me realize at an early age, that although we may not look and think the same, we can still share and feel a ‘sense of connection’ beyond words.
I had always hoped for more children to have opportunities like this to expand their world. I’m so excited to be able to help HappyDoll fulfill its dream of bringing children together from around the globe!
